Free Agents
Rules for free agents:
1) Free agents will switch teams at half. Exceptions will be made for goalies and in the case where there is only a single free agent playing on an under-manned team.
2) The team that is lower in the standings gets to pick first, regardless of number of players. Exception: in the situation where a team has three or fewer players available and there is only one free agent available, that team will receive the services of the free agent. In all other situations, the team that is lower in the standings will choose first, regardless of numbers. Situation 1: Team A has five players and is lower in the standings than Team B, who have four players; Team A shall have the first choice of free agents. Situation 2: Team A has four players, Team B has three players. Team B is higher in the standings. There is a single free agent available for the game. Team B gets to use the free agent.
3) No first round draft picks can play for other teams. Captains can play for other teams only in the situation where a team does not have enough players to field a team.
4) Teams are only eligible to play a free agent goalie in one-half of their games, starting with games on Tuesday, 8 February 2011.

Miscellaneous Rules
1) No slap-shots: all sticks must be kept below the waist on shots. Violations result in a turn over from the spot of infraction.
2) High sticks will result in a turn-over from the spot of the infraction. High stick is defined as above the crossbar.
3) First to a ball in the snow or out of play within the bounds of the fence will have possession. Opposing players must give this player the opportunity to put the ball back in play. The interpretation of this rule is at the discretion of the referee.
4) All balls that go beyond the fence will turn over. The ball will come back into play from the non-offending team’s half.
5) Goal-scorers are responsible for reporting assists to the referee.
